Eric Gonzalez, CEO & Owner

Eric has a lifetime of experience swimming and teaching. As a child he completed all levels of the Red Cross Learn to Swim program and began teaching at the age of 16. In college he continued to teach for Swimquest Inc. which he later bought. He changed the name to San Antonio Swim Academy in 2001 and began creating the SASA you see today. Under his guidance SASA has grown to 7 locations and now teaches over 1000 students per year.

Eric is married and has a beautiful little girl who will be swimming laps by the time she is 2 years old! He is from Palacios, Texas which is a small town on the Gulf Coast with a robust population of 5,000. After graduating from high school he attended McMurry University and graduated from UTSA.

In addition to owning SASA, Eric is a Premier Banking Client Manger with Bank of America specializing in wealth management for some of the banks best customers.

Dean Wiederstein, COO & Co-owner

Dean arrived at SASA in 2002 as an instructor and manager. Through his experience and uncanny way with people he has lead SASA to a new level of quality.

Dean is responsible for many of the great things our curriculum focuses on throughout the various levels we teach. His experience comes from his background as a Marine Combat Water Survival Instructor. In his time running the "swim tank" at Camp Pendleton he certified over 600 marines on water safety and technique.

Dean's dedication to the program and ensuring we are ready to go every day make him the perfect person to run SASA. His customers love him for what he does and his staff follows by his example.

Before SASA, Dean was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp and did a tour as an Amphibious Reconnaissance Team Lead in Iraq. He is the proud father of three children and also a recent graduate of UTSA as an architect.

Manon Gonzalez , Operations Manager

Manon has been a part of SASA for many years in different capacities. In her role as Operations Manager she is responsible for the over site of all customer service and registration operations.

Manon is originally from Edinburg, Texas and is a graduate of St. Mary's University. Her time away from SASA is spent with her pride and joy, 6 month old Mady.

Manon has a history of working in children related industries. She is the former gymnastics instructor, owner of a cheerleading gym and school teacher.

Nikki McNish , Registration Specialist

Nikki is not only an employee but a proud SASA parent as well. Her daughter can be seen making waves in our Aquatot classes. She has been involved with SASA in one way or another for the last 3 years and brings wealth of business experience to the program.

Her past endeavors include TV news reporting, business marketing and most recently a clothing design company.

Christina Gomez, Registration Specialist

Christina comes to us from the retail world. Her previous customer service experience makes her a valuable addition to the team. She is currently working to earn her degree from UTSA and is expected to graduate in 2008. Please look to hear her friendly voice helping with all of your registration and service needs.

Scharlena Lewis, Registration Specialist

Schar, otherwise none as "Eric Lewis' Mom," is well versed in our program having been a client for several years. Her previous experience is in the hospitality industry and she will be a strong addition to our staff in delivering a great client experience.
